Unbound Edition: Attention Deficit Theatre: "Mad Men," Season Three, Episode 12

"What do you predict will happen?"

I predict that the writers at "Saturday Night Live" will have a field day when January Jones hosts in nine days. (But, I can't predict what other "MM" cast member(s) will show up. However, the Moss-Armisen connection is too obvious to discount.)

By the way, the "Oh my God, they killed Kennedy!...You bastards!" bit...er, killed.

My prediction -Connie will ask Don to leave SC and come work for him, Betty will talk to a lawyer who will say she's screwed unless she has some incriminating info on Don, and Pete, well I think he will find his clients, for all he does, won't commit to following him anywhere. But then, I haven't been right all season, so factor that in while considering these predictions. Only one more episode left --then will begin 10 months of wondering to what point MW will jump MM (and us) to for the 4th season.

Perhaps the show will jump over the shark tank.

Predictions: Duck tries to engineer a Grey buyout of Sterling Coo, to screw Don by cutting him loose--only to find out that Don now *has* a contract. (Tables: turn.) If Betty wants to leave Don, she should just get the hell out already; I'm over them. She can plunge right in to another marriage to a man she hardly knows. Don needs to be free to philander his way through the swinging 60s, when the story picks up next season in early 1965--all the better for Dr. Rapist to be brutally killed over in Vietnam.

I think Dr Rapist dies at the emergency room somehow, else why would MW have had Joan explain that detail of where he was? That would explain Don and Roger showing up at her place. And what happened to the comment in an earlier episode about Connie being invited to the wedding and arriving with his big Texas hat? I thought for sure he and Betts would talk and she'd mention all Don's late nights working with Hilton. I guess it's still not too late for that conversation to happen.

Great recap, always very funny: "This is so unprofessional, Betts. No one else has a problem with their lines."

Not sure what will happen next, but I do know that it is the last episode so only less then an hour of things happening left. So that also means the last ADT episode for a while... Any other shows or maybe the news you can make better than it is? Talking about augmented reality!

"Don: That's like taking an eraser to a blank piece of paper, Betts." Great line. I laughed out loud at that one. JJ is such a terrible actress. Hope she runs off with Henry so we don't have to deal with her anymore. Glad we got to see more of the office folk this episode.

"What do you predict will happen?"
Whatever it is, I hope it has more to do with the wit and humor of the office group and less from the depressing Draper marriage.

Thanks, Kristin for your humourous spin.

Ooh,ooh! I predict that there will be a sequel to the movie "Love Actually" and that January Jones will hold out for a much bigger role and billing this time, perhaps aiming for above-the-title.

A Pee Wee Herman nod complete with Chairy, Conky and Jambi....and even Stan and Kyle got a poke...it's a beautiful thing.

Prediction: Duck gooses SC. Betty hangs in there with her marriage, cuz what is a well educated 60's mom with three kids to do? And Pete? Well, Pete gives in to Trudy's family and kills himself.

I know that Betty would have a different personality (or maybe A personality!) if she were not so beautiful--but jeez, you'd think an Anthropology major from Bryn Mawr would have a few left-over sparks somewhere--anyway, she and her overall "dud-osity" belong with the duller-than-a-bucket-of-hair guy with two first names...his proposal was far-fetched, but again, as with all scenes from this show, we are dealing with intricate symbolism rather than the literal way things are...

The scene between Pete and Harry with the CBS bulletin in the background reminds me of my mom's story about watching the very same show portrayed and then getting a visit from our next door neighbor--she turned down the sound as they chatted and missed the first sequence of bulletins--so, there was something that felt right about the scene, at least to me...

I imagine that the hippie-to-be schoolmarm will find out something dreadful about her brother, carrying Don's card--leaving Don alone again (naturally) as his descent from the top to the ground continues...b/t/w--Connie was attending the SC 40th anniversary, not the wedding...

Great job, as usual Kristin--I agree, this episode packed a punch--probably because of the assassination as backdrop

Kudos to Kristin...once again! I predict a flying saucer from another world with a Michael Rennie-like actor (perhaps the real Don Draper?) will land in Ossining and transport Betts to another world (can you say, "Klaatu-Barda-Nikto"? I know Betts probably can!) where idiotic, somnambulant dialogue is common...we can only hope!

Walter Cronkite: It's official: you two are total douches. And that's the way it is.

Funniest line EVER in the great recaps. Wonderful job Kristen! And that's the way it is.

Kristin, you have so much talent! I especially loved the line "If only he used Aqua Net."

I returned from vacation unplugged (Luddite-o-Rama) and am reading this after the finale, so I won't make a prediction.

Can't wait to read this week's recap!
